Weight Loss Difficulties with Age

It is a fact that losing weight gets harder with age. One of the main reasons for this is that the metabolism slows down significantly as we get older. Often times in our twenties and even out thirties we could drop 20 pounds quite easily, but that is not often so when we get to 40+. One of the ways to combat this issue is if you are still in your 20's and 30's to consider this fact carefully and choose to get healthy and lose the weight now and stay vigilant in maintaining a healthy weight. But, if you are all ready struggling with weight loss, there are things you can do to accelerate the diet process. One of the best ways to kick start the metabolism is exercise. I know for many of us, exercise can be a four letter word, but it doesn't have to be. Many picture exercise as a form of torture that takes hours of time and takes tons of energy and work. This is not true! There are many forms of exercise that are very high in quality, short in time and can also be fun. 2 Great Ways to Get Started with Exercise 1. Power walks. You do not have to run to lose weight, you can take a brisk power walk for about 20 minutes a day, 4 times a week. This will quickly get you in to shape and get you feeling good and more fit. With time you will feel so good that you will naturally want to increase your activity level and your metabolism will be soaring. 2. Cycling is another great way to exercise and it is very low impact. Using a stationary bike at home or in a gym for 20 minutes a day, about 4 times a week is another great way to get started on the road to fitness. It is not very difficult and you can start out slow and build up your strength and stamina. All in all starting out slow and doing some aerobic movement at least 3 times a week is a great way to get the body burning fat and boosting metabolism and getting yourself well on your way to weight loss success at any age. |
