Simple Guide for the Treatment of Acne
By Jr Lang
Acne is a condition that plagues millions of people worldwide. For many it is a temporary condition that starts and ends with puberty, but for others it continues into adulthood, turns into a chronic condition, and for a few it is so severe that it causes long term and intense scarring. Because so many people suffer from acne medical research is active and ongoing in continuing to look for treatments and cures. These days there are several advanced research projects going on in acne treatment one of which is using laser technology that is all ready used to remove wrinkles and scars, that British researchers believe can also effectively reduce acne. But, overall there are 3 ways that you can treat acne today, and sometimes it takes some trial and error to find the one that works for you. Three Good Acne Treatment Methods: 1. Skin Care Maintenance - One of the best ways to prevent acne is to keep your skin clean and oil free. The dirt and other free radicals that are all over our environment contribute heavily to acne and breakouts. Keeping your face clean is important, and washing it twice a day can go along way to treat and prevent acne breakouts. Also, using a special facial wash that contains the over-the-counter medications listed below is essential to keeping your face clear. 2. Over The Counter Medications - Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid medications that come in the form of over-the-counter washes, creams, astringent pads and other forms are some of the fastest, most economical and easiest ways to treat acne and prevent it with regular maintenance. 3. Prescription Medications - Oral or topical antibiotics are medications used to treat acne and require a doctors prescription. Most people who have severe acne will see a dermatologist who can diagnose and prescribe these types of treatments. |
