Bluetooth Technology and Cell Phones
By Jr Lang
Bluetooth is a new form of wireless technology that replaces cables for electronic devices. Originally the idea came from Ericson and has been developed by a ton of other companies. Itis a high speed, low powered wireless link technology that is designed to connect phones or other portable equipment together with little to no work required by the user. Unlike infrared, Bluetooth technology does not require line of site positioning to work. The technology of Bluetooth is a small cheap radio chip that plugs into computers, printers and mobile phones. The chip carries signals via a special frequency to the target object, such as a cell phone, that would normally be transmitted via a cable or cord. To understand what is Bluetooth is to understand its main function, which is to replace cables and make electronic components like cell phones headsets completely cordless. The technology is both innovative and incredible, allowing for complete plug and cord free use of many electronic components. When one Bluetooth device comes in contact with another, they will automatically exchange addresses and details of capability. Then, they can establish a 1 MB link with security that they will use as required. Also of importance is the fact that Bluetooth devices will not drain battery life. From a technical standpoint, Bluetooth is very different indeed. It is the best wireless method in the world, surpassing even infrared. While infrared has many key features, the Bluetooth technology is better as it provides a line of sight that can go through walls and through obstacles. For communication on the go, Bluetooth is very hard to compete with and it has a lot to offer in an increasingly difficult market place. It brings with it the freedom from restriction of movement that comes with cables and cords and the simplicity in networking that has yet to be matched by LAN (Local Area Network). Instead of creating a LAN or a wide-area network (WAN), Bluetooth creates a personal-area network (PAN) just for you. What is Bluetooth for Cell Phones Bluetooth technology has made cell phones a lot more functional. Bluetooth cell phone headsetsare little gadgets that fits snug to the ear and when used with a cell phone, the user need not touch the cell phone, but instead can leave it in their pocket and perform most of the mobile tasks by using the in-ear headset. Those functions include, completely wireless, hand-free answering and talking on the cell phone, very useful while driving for example, or other times when you need to use the phone hands-free. Bluetooth cell phone headsets are also very useful for residents of states where holding a cell phone while driving has become illegal, such as in California, and will become even more useful as more states adopt this law.
